Default New Wheels Question?

I am looking at some 17's for when the snow melts as my stock 5-spoke 16's are starting to flake on the inside of the bead (now they will be my winter rims as this is my DD). Anyway I want to run 275/40/17 which I understand will fit w/out any mods. My question is how wide of rim do I need to run 275's? I know that I can run them on a 17X9 but will they fit on a narower rim? I ask because there are several rims that I like here but many of them are 7.5" or 8" rims...not that I don't like the Thrust but...I like some of those other ones more...thanks for the help/advice

245 is wath is rekomended for 8'' wheels, and om 9'' wheels 275 is perfekt. It will probably work with 275 on a 8'' wide wheel but the tyre will look to big for the wheel. I would recomend you to buy 9'' wheels or go down allitle on the tyres..

you will mostly likely be working with a 7.5 since your car is FWD

You can safely put 17 x 9.5" rims on all 4 corners without any mods. If you go to 10+ in the rear you will need some shims depending on your backspacing. Check out www.oewheelsllc.com for some great looking wheels and tire packages.

What are you talking about my camro is a 6 wheeler 2 in the back and 1 in the front, thinking about punting Caterpillar tracks on it during winter.
