Default New project decisions

So I got myself a new project. It is a 93 LT1 6 speed. I will do a build thread but first I need to figure out what I want to do. This will also be a low buck build. By low buck build I don’t mean a China made clutch but I will not be going out and getting a $2400 Lt1 to LT4 conversion kit or putting some machine shop owner’s kid through collage.

I went against my own rules on this one. Normally I like to buy a car that is in great shape but has one, normally major, issue. This car is going to need a lot of little things.

The car will be my daily drivers, like my V6 build the car will need to get decent gas mileage and be dependable. It will get caught in traffic jams and I’ll want to use the AC the whole time with no worries. I am thinking 325 HP maybe a stock LT1 with a Vett cam?

What I am starting with: Someone has converted this car to look like a later SS. Well check out the pics. Interior looks nice. I do not have to do anything to it unless I want to upgrade stuff. Motor is in pieces. It’s a high miles mostly original LT1. Cam is wiped out motor looks like someone put a big cam in. As you can see in the pics most of the car showed up in boxes.

Drivers door is in primer, Car has been sitting for awhile.

So what would you do with it?

looks like it will be a good project man, pesonally id lean towards drivetrain first but, i would do some head work, cam, longtube headers. Pretty sure thats the key parts of doing a LT1, just in my opinion. But def do a build thread gl man

Yea it worth more parted out then as a whole right now. Whats the front clip worth? The SS hatch? Tear free set of seats? 18" rims? Heads and intake? I start adding it all up and I am tempted to part it out but I have wanted a v8 6 speed since i finished my v6 5 speed.

I wish I could of done that. Im not so lucky. My dad has no interest in me owning a camaro. When I was looking to buy one he used to get pissed and when I said something like well heres a z28 it needs new window motors or something small like that, he'd be like. HOW DO YOU KNOW THATS ALL IT WILL NEED. If I try to bring something up about doing something to my car he changes the subject. Or if I asked him how to fix something he just says I dont know. So I had to buy a v6 that i had to do no work do. Completely taking out the fun of buying my car :/
