I got a quote for my car for 1200, if I did all the prep work they would repaint all the exterior the same color which is OE black (I have t-tops and all the interior paint is very good). Plain black and white are the two cheapest colors to spray when none metallic. We have a dodge dealership near me that has an extremely good, state of the art body shop and white or black usually runs under 2k with prep work on a car our size.
black is one of the cheaper colors to spray but unforgiving. if you care about bumps, low and high points then much prep must be done.

I do my own vehicles and started using an HVLP turbine and it works ok as well as long as you thin it down even more and use more coats.

But, it's the prep work and to change colors requires a lot of disassemble/reassembly so you don't just drive into a Maaco and think it will get dione for $1,000 or even $2,000 including the prep work

You can get crap for $500 to $800. Dont get a scuff and shoot. It will look like crap,
fall off, and hurt the value of your car.

Remember a really good paint job is $3000 or more.

I disagree with this claim because i have had many of my cars painted for under $700 and the paint job was excellent it didn't chip of or anything and it looked very nice and professional honestly when it comes to finding a good deal on paint jobs you just gotta ask around really

If you paid 700 for a "good paint job" then the guy who painted must of took a major hit.
