try unplugging the maf and see if it idles then. test the tps and iac. check the fuel pressure, test the evap sytem. https://camaroforums.com/forum/lt1-lt4-tech-9/testing-evap-system-51219/

well after it did it the second time i pulled the MAF, TPS and idle control valve and sprayed the crap out of them with maf cleaner. it hasnt happened since.

when the TPS is pulled with the car running it idles a little rough. when the TPS is pulled and then the car is started the RPMs just climb as if you are pushing on the gas. i cutoff the ignition at 4000. who knows how high it would have gone...to the rev limiter?

but anyways after cleaning those it hasnt happened since. but then again there was about a week gap between the 1st and 2nd occurance. so i guess its a wait and see. if it happens again my thoughts were replace the TPS and go from there.

could be different for the 3.8 but numbers should be the same.
Use a voltmeter and back probe the connector while still plugged into the sensor on the vehicle with key on, engine off. you can also get one of these
http://www.rickscamaros.com/camaro-t...1993-1997.html

Should be 5 volts between pins A and B with key on, and roughly 0.5V at idle position from pin C to pin B and roughly 5 volts at full throttle from pin C to pin B.

iac is idle air control motor. check here
