Question New guy needs advice

Hi everyone, I had a question and I'm hoping for some good advice. I just bought a 96 Camaro RS, and was wondering what the best cold air intake to get would be. I keep seeing some for like $60 and others for like $200. I don't want to waste money, and I don't want to pay too much. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Your intake already is a CIA from the factory but the 93-97 are a little restrictive. If you do the conical filter and tube make sure you isolate the filter from the engine bay or you will have a HOT air intake. Most of these "kits" are not true cold air intakes at all but a tube and filter in a box with a 50+HP making sticker.

TX, the intake on the 93-97 cars is totally different. It is a little box that feeds cold air from under the car behind the left side bumper. The mod you are talking about works great on the 98-02 cars.

ebay seller chromeintakes sells a nice kit for less than $100, one of the most popular for the 95-97 3.8's
