Default NEw Exhaust

So my cat is pretty much shot, the pipes are rusty and the muffler has a hole in it. Heck, it's 13 years old.

In short, time for a new exhaust.

Summit has the entire system from headers back shipped for $400

Or I can get the system from flowmaster for $650.

Is the sound of the flowmaster worth the extra money or not it with the v6?

If you have a 3.8l I would get true duals made with an x pipe to bullet mufflers dumped at the axle. Any cat back system sounds not so great on the v6

Flowmaster sounds like **** on a v6, borla or true duals are the best. I can only image what you getting for $400, considering the headers are almost $300 by there self, for the painted ones.
And as far as headers go you can get satin less steel obx headers on eBay for $300 shipped.

OBX stainless headers and OBX stainless cat back, Although I have not heard any reviews on the sound.

I have had both Flowmaster and Magnaflow on my 3800.

Flow master sounds awesome at idle, I had car guys that did not know I had a V6 tell me it sounded strong but over 3000 RPM the raspy sound is REALLY bad.

Magnaflow does not sound as mean at idle but raspness is not as bad.

No Cat adds to the "drown" sound while on the highway for both but it is also much worse in the Flowmaster.

If I had to pick between Flowmaster and Magnaflow it would be Magnaflow but I do miss the rumble at idle.

I do have the OBX headers but my magnaflow is still in good shape so I have not gotten the OBX cat back. Had it been around when I bought the magnaflow I would have tried it.

(When I bought my OBX header I emailed the guy through ebay and asked if be could do any better and he gave me $15 bucks off. If you can find a guy selling both I would check to see if you could get a package deal. )

It's not that he'd have problems doing it, it's the sound. It's way too raspy.
