New to 2002 SS
I just purchased a 2002 Camaro SS from the original owner and I am looking for more information on the car. Things like, how many built in this color or options...etc.. I have verified it being original both thru the OE window sticker & running the SN thru the SVE website, but would like to go further, is there any way to do that?

SS was built my SLP, There should be a ID number in the door jam. SLP can tell you everything they did to the car. I believe they have production information on their site.
With SS Camaros not being made at GM you can have everything from a Base SS to all kinds of aftermarket upgrade. SLP would have been glad to do anything you wanted to the car as long as your pockets where deep enough.

And supplementing Gorn's answer, I had two of them.
The first was an '00 SS and learned from SLP, it was a basic SS model as it did not have the pass door SLP RPO sticker.
Current '02 SS I have now, has SLP RPO sticker on pass door and lists the mods they did.
But all SS's came with 17 inch ten-spoke wheels, scooped hood, and a four-post rear spoiler.
Yes, there is in the cloud, a production number of Camaro's and their options.

I am getting the car tomorrow, but the original owner states there is no decal on the passenger door, so this means it was a "Base" model? What actually does the "base" or "basic" model come with, my car is an automatic by the way.

A car equipped with only the SS Performance and Appearance Package from GM is considered a base SS. It can have varying RPO options from Chevrolet, but will not have any of the SLP options outside of the basic SS package. I've attached a pdf from a portion of the order form showing the additional SLP options that were available and these are what would have been listed on the passenger door sticker. Also added a pdf of a hero card showing the SLP options.

The SS is a comedic package mostly. They pretty up a Z28 and made it sound better. I always thought the 4 gen SS was a little overrated. With the 1st and 2nd Gens SS meant upgrades of the entire drive line, most of the SS only parts are still valuable today.

I also think they came with the Intake lid and I think SLP's exhaust? Not sure if the shocks upgrade was part of the base package.but the bilstein shock are pretty common on SS's
