Need help removing tie rod end

If it's a conventional thread, you want to turn the nut counter-clockwise (lefty loosey), to back it away from the tie rod end.

got it off! left the mapp gas torch on it for a good 10 mins or so. the jam nut never came loose but the end did though. Also for future reference the threads were not reversed.

just spins on the inside tie rod ends. if you look at the link you can see the inside ones are in line so they rarely go out.

After you get finished roasting and baking the end of the tie rod, the metal will have lost its temper and the entire tie rod assembly should be replaced, if nothing else, for safety sake. You could probably save yourself a lot of aggravation and change both the inner and outer sections and trash the bad assembly. You may need to borrow a special tool to disconnect the inner section from the steering rack
