I just recently bought a 96 Camaro V6, I got it from a guy in Idaho ( i'm located in WA ), seeing as how Idaho has different state laws then we do in WA he really caused quite a few problems for me. He cut the cat off, but in a way that rendered it non reusable, so i had to get that replaced. He drove around without and air filter and ruined the MAF sensor, Got that replaced. Also the air temperature sensor needed replaced. I also put on a k&n cold air intake, new spark plugs, and k&n wires, filled her up with royal purple, and a k&n oil filter. After i did all that the check engine light turned off and she passed emissions, and ran perfectly.... for a about a week. Then check engine light came back on, so i drive down to autozone and have them hook up the code reader.. It reads 12 codes, it got a MAF reading ( just replaced that ), it got a random misfire code, a egr valve code, both 02 sensors, and too rich/lean fuel or something like that. Just some small observations my car sounds a little funny when its in park and you rev it up, and it doesn't quite throw you in the seat the way she use to. I have no idea where to start, can 12 things really be wrong ? or is one thing making my computer go crazy ? please help me

I highly doubt it had 12 active codes. Just because the SES Light isn't on, doesn't mean that a code isn't stored. It sounds like they just accumulated over time. I would have the codes cleared completely, and the next time the light comes on get it read again.

Good idea very simple, ill start with that. Also looked it up you unplug the negative cable, then turn the headlights on to drain any remaining power, wait 15 mins and computer should be reset. Just incase anyone else was wondering.

you can also (after unhooking battery) touch the positive and negitive battery cables together for about 10 minutes, did i say to not do it when the battery is hooked up. that resets the computer to factory settings and it will begain learning. so it may run a bit funny while it adjusts. three or four long term runs. that should give it time to find problems too.
