I know for sure a 3.8 can be bored .040 over. A friend of mine with a 3.8 Firebird did his and it's holy cow, more peppy now! He also did exhaust, headers, intake, forged pistons, and a tune.

how much more HP did it add?

and my original plan was not to rebuild the motor basically i just wanted to change over the gaskets to the second edition felpro makes. I figured since i would have the heads off i could do some other **** too. There is nothing wrong with my motor now, and I know from my experience as long as i maintain oil changes and such i could get this up to some really high miles without internal problems, I dont race, most i get my RPM's up to is 3k between shifts.
Ive been really lucky with Chevy(GM) and will always buy a Chevy.

I'm not sure but I drove it before and after and there was a very noticeable difference. He also put a stage 2 spec clutch in it.

sweet, i was thinking about stage II clutch kit too. Though I sound like i want the very best, my chances of using it are slim if that makes any sense lol
Oh and after i replaced my cat, i did race a few times that day for fun. Now i just drive like a DD. Slow and listening to my system as it bumps.

To change the piston and cam your gonna need to pull the motor and your gonna need to pull at least 80% of the motor apart anyways so why not go the little further and clean it real well and it if your not gonna bore the cylinders there no real point in changing the pistons but a good thing would be new rings and bearings

Dude my system is cheap too but it'll set off alarms. I have a Sony home sub in the back of my car lmao. RE Audio door speakers that are amped. and a Kenwood KDC-MP242 head unit.
