Default My car is possessed... or something...

I have an 02 Z28 with a six speed. So when I have the air conditioning on... and I shift into neutral and coast... the engine slowly revs itself up to about 2100 rpms and it just stays there. It will stay there until I stop almost completely, or push in the clutch, or turn off the AC.

Why is it doing that?

Thanks

It already has a higher rpm when in motion than stopped, then the ac compressor needs more power.

The AC compressor is lacking power, therefore it is not getting enough and raising RPMS will in motion...I guess.

When you are moving with the transmission not engaged your car will idle higher to help prevent you from lugging the motor, so adding your air conditioner on top of that will draw more power from the motor causeing it to spin faster still.

A new development haha! When I had my scanner hooked up the other day, I was looking at the live data. When I am stopped and idling... the throttle says 0.0. I noticed that when I was coasting to a stop with the ac on just like i said above... the throttle position says 0.3. And it will stay like that until I come to almost a complete stop. Does that mean anything to anybody?

Thanks
