Default Mpg

Just curious, what sort of MPG are you guys getting?
How much would an intake and exhaust help gas mileage?

Just wondering because if I do end up getting a Camaro, it would be my daily.

On my 98 z28. I get maybe 280miles for a whole tank. Or a little less. It's cutting it close until I run out. My car has 152k on it. I'm sure its seen better days

And the intake and exhaust wont make a noticeable difference in mpg. It dint for me anyway. ls1s are pretty good on gas if that's what you plan on getting. For v8s anyway.

12 mpg on 91 octane gas! Can't wait to get a tune and kill these emissions controls once and for all. That should put me back up to 300~ per tank like when it was stock...

Around 26 MPG, a good cat back and intake will get you a few MPG

exhaust and intake is not going to give you better mpg. doing mods without a computer tune you will most times lose mpg. if your getting poor mpg then check you spark plugs and 02 sensors for fouling, also test your coolant temp sensor and intake air temp sensor.

As a general rule mods like Intakes and Exhaust help with flow but only on the upper end of RPMs when the stock system start to fall short. Things like CAI can hurt you mileage by introducing more colder air to the motor. A set of headers can help with mileage a little because the motor does not have to work as hard to empty the cylinder. But that will depend on how good you stock ones are.

I built my 96 3800/5 speed as a comuter, I was driving 110 miles round trip to work 6 days a week. I get 30-32 MPG Highway in the summer time, I have even managed 30.5 MPG accross the whole tank (I check my mileage every week) In the winter or on very cold weeks the mileage can fall off to 27-28. Some of that is letting the car warm up but I think the colder air just requires more fuel. I was going to do a PCMforLess tune (they estimate 2-3 MPG) but I moved closer to work and I am working on a V8 project now that I only do a 60 mile round trip.

Appreciate the correction, I didn't really check, I figured from the hype that magna flow and K&N had about "better horse power and MPG" I figured hey.. but what you're saying makes sense

I can usually pull a little over 200 miles out of a full tank of 93 octane. Then again, I drive less than 3 miles to work every day, depending on which job I'm going too.

Stock, Ive heard LS1s are more frugal than LT1s.
My 95 Z28 T56 gets ~22mpg in mixed driving, but I am older and less throttle-prone... and might be better if I'd do the intake gasket job it needs.
Our 98 3800 T5 can get 30mpg on the hiway.
