biggest advantage the 3.8 has is that you can still get a good low miles used one for a fare price. birds are very welcome on our site. 3.4, a 5.7 minus 2 cylinders, is a good motor so long as its cared for.

ahh, ok. I mainly love this motor because from what Ive seen at least, if you keep up with oil changes and take care of the cooling system well, these engines are basically bulletproof. And FAIRLY simple to work on. haha

Well hopefully there is enough information flowing around on this thread to help out.

god the firebird was in AWFUL condition....none of the electronics worked and candy wrappers all over the back seat - wth lol - i am done with craigslist cars, all the ones i find on craigslist are beaters....

we shall see how the green camaro works out *praying*

can anyone link to a pic of a 95 camaro under the hood? i can circle the pipe that was super rusty...the pulleys looked a little rusty too, but not Too bad over all. the green camaro is for sale from an official chevy dealer, so it should be in good hands right?

I hope it works out for you. It looks beautiful. Im kind of jealous. I love my camaro, but I think I honestly got one of the worst colors. It just blends in so much. But I love the color of the one you were looking at. Bright and vibrant, but not like a bright red were it screams bad attention either.
Let us know how it goes. Ill be pulling for ya.

thanks

Another thing, when i turned on the green camaro for the first time, it wouldnt start until i gave it some gas....the gas tank was near empty and the dealer said it hadnt been started in a while...is that probably why or could there be a bigger issue? after i turned it off, it turned on again no problem.

on mine that means i need new plugs. lol. usually means its running rich. by pressing the gas peddle your adding more air not more fuel.

alot depends on who is doing the work. shop time is not cheap. could just need 02s the injectors cleaned and plugs. maybe a maf or could be fuel pump, low pressure can cause rich condition. if a shop is doing it a fuel pump can cost 600-800 bucks. changing plugs is probly 200 bucks just for labor, best to have it checked out at a good shop before buying. that way if fuel pressure is good and it has 02 codes or fouled 02s and plugs then you know its something that is not hard just a pita. well maybe, 02s can get crazy if they are siezed on. plugs are just a pain not matter what.
