Default Mice

Forgive me if this has already been discussed. I'm about to put away my 2000 Camaro convertible. I used to use moth ***** in my Riviera which didn't work all that well. Any suggestions as to how to keep mice and red squirrels out of my car in the long 5 month winter in upstate NY?

Having a Plymouth tucked away over the winter many years ago, I was surprised to find 7 dead mice in the coolant that I had drained out and that was standing in a cut up jug beside the car.

Back then(in the 80’s) people made mice traps with antifreeze standing in an open container with a flipboard that made the mouse fall down by its own weight getting far enough out on the board, and then drown in the coolant.

Apparently, they are attracted to the sweet smell, but it should be said that antifreeze is very toxic and takes out the kidneys in a very painful way, and that was probably why this method was abended and slowly forgotten about.

Then killing them with rat poison is likely not so harmless either, and if they drown in the fluid, the suffering shouldn’t be that long

I dont have pets so I use high pitched noise makers that plug into regular 110 outlet. seem to work.
