Default this may seem really stupid..

has there been anyone to put an lt1 in an 98 - 02 body?? i was thinking about doing it, prolly seem like a stupid thing to do and im sure youll say why not go ahead and put an ls1 in it... but im not rich, and i think i can afford an lt1 swap..ive found a dude with a 10 bolt rear, lt1 and auto trans (ima try and buy it w\o the trans, or either trade it or sell it), so what else would i need? other than mounts and wiring, and would the lt1 bolt up to my t5 i got now, or will i need a t56?

you would need a 6-speed if you were going manual, it would be a lot better, you might need the fans from a v8 4th gen im not sure what the v6 have, do you know what is being included with the lt1 ?

dude in the article just said he had an lt1 10 bold rear w\ axilsand a hypertech power programmer..im waitin on an email back..theres also another dude that has an lt1 and rebuilt auto trans w\ 130k miles on the engine, and askin 800, but ima do a good forged rebuild and a nice cam, and i asked him if he'd sell it with out the trans cause, my cars set up for a manual so idont need it..but if i cant, then sell the auto trans and my t5 i guess and go towards a t56

The motors will not just direcly swap out, you'll need different mounts etc. Typically it's smarter to save your pennies and time and just buy a V8 car, but if you want to go through with the swap, the general rule of thumb is that you'll pretty much need the motor, all sensors and computer equipment and a lot of misc parts that you'd never think of.
