be sure to let the filter set overnight and drain after its oiled. like on a few news papers. the oil will foul the map maf and intake air sensor.

Just a final word on this job. The car is done. New bulb is in the marker light, clean, oiled filter back on. After I oiled the K&N filter I stuffed some newspaper down inside the filter and then wrapped it in newspaper overnight to make sure any excess oil was soaked out. All I have to do now is my spring oil change and wash, clay bar and wax it. She sure sounds sweet. Thanks for all the help.

Now she is back on the road, tomorrow is supposed to be rainy and cold with a possibility of that nasty 4 letter word. Monday is supposed to be better.

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that yesterday I finally took her out for about a 70 mile drive. She ran flawlessly, no leaks and the gauge read a constant 180 the whole time after she warmed up. I double checked this morning for any leaks and the level of antifreeze and the radiator was up full where it should be and the reservoir was perfectly at the cold full level. I am very happy with the results of my first job on an LT-1. Since I did this, I am not afraid to do any work on it. Again, thanks for the help.
