This would be my first time owning a camaro and need to know the things to look for when purchasing these cars anything in particular that is common with majority of these years?? Looking for the best buy and on a limit of $5000!! The years im looking at is between a 98- 99. Is one better then the other? Buy the lowest mileage, newest car You can find in your budget. Like any car, make sure it hasn't been wrecked and that the driveline is in good working order.

You and me both are looking for a late model 4th gen. Just inspect the car carefully: shift through the gears, check powertrain, and keep in mind the size of the gaps between sills (make sure they're even or close to it.)PersonallyI like the cars where theowner kept documented maintanence. Other than thatyou mightwant torun aCarFax report.

Well if you are willing to go for something older I have a 1996 Camaro, 3.8 V6, T-tops, with 153,000 mi, and its dark purple for $3200 if you are interested in that. If your not I would take the car to a parking lot and slam on the gas take some turns fast enough to keep control then try the brakes. I made the mistake of not doing this with mine and I started hearing a knocking noise coming from my passenger side rear end not good but got it fixed though.
