Default Manual Fan

I have a 98 Z28. I have been having trouble with my fans not coming on. I have changed relays, checked fuses and still nothing. Not even when A/C is on. I was wanting to run a manual fan switch. How would be the best way to do it and what parts do I need.

Thanks

Are you sure your fan motors are good by hot wireing them ?

Have you checked out shbox link on test and troubleshooting cooling system? http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#cooling

If you google it manual fan switch, there are several links. Here is one.

the fans dont come on with the a/c so there is no power getting to the fans. have you tested for power at the relay.

Which relay Craby? I have replaced 3 so far. Took a jumper wire and put it in where the relay goes and the fans came on.

so the computer is not telling the relays to turn them on. either the temp gage is not working right or there s a bad connection somewhere. you should be able to wire into the relay with a switch so you can at least turn them on in the short term. pick up a factory service manual for your yr and model. only way to go.

Don't the signal come from the sensor at the water pump that sends the signal to the computer to turn the fans on? Have you checked the wiring connection on that sensor or ohmed it out with a meter to see if it is good?

not sure if the 98 has one or two temp sensors. i think one and if thats the case i would think the gage would be messing up to.
