I have a magnaflow muffler on my 02 Z. Will it actually benefit my horsepower and performance wise tothrow on magnaflow tips and a pipe from the cats to the muffler? The exhaust is stock except for the muffler. The shop told me that the exhaust on the 02 is already a good one and it wont benefit me much to do it. What do you guys think? Thanks.

 

couldnt hurt, but i dont think it will affect performance, maybe if the piping you get might control like heat or something. throw on some chrome tips might make it look a little nicer.

 

The tips aren't going to make any difference at all. The pipe from the cat to the muffler on the other hand will. The stock exhaust is a 2.5" compression bent system, if you get the Magnaflow get the 3" mandrel bent system. You'll free up a little bit of HP there, nothing too major, but it could benefit you down the road if you're planning on further mods.
