Default LT1 Won't Crank

I went to start my TA today and it wouldn't even try to crank. I know the battery isn't dead because lights and everything works. Usually when I turn the car on I can hear the fans turning. But now they won't do anything.
Any ideas?

Check the battery any way. The starter takes a couple hundred amps to turn the car over but the lights only take a couple. Also cables and starter can cause this issue. Those are the the obvious things, now the not so obvious, your key may not be reading in your VATS system. Try another key.

I tried to jump the starter today. It sparked and the car started to crank but didn't hold the wire on long enough. What could be the problem if it did this?

there is a small wire that goes to the starter, that is the wire that goes to the ignition switch, if you are not getting power to this small wire when the key is turned to the start position then its between the starter and the ignition switch, the vats and a starter enable relay is in there on mine. with a 97 and obd2 on yours im not sure on what you have. heres a little info from mine but it may or may not be like yours. maybe massey or gorn will know.
