Default LT1 Shift Kits

whats the best shift kit to get for a LT1 automatic. i want a shift kit that will increase my 1/4 times.

Any shift kit that makes shift times faster is going to improve your 1/4 mile time (although the 4L60E shifts pretty quick as it is), depending on how much abuse you like to take while driving around town is probably going to determine how aggressive you want to go. There's no official rating for them, they just have general "for street/strip" and "for strip only" on most that I've seen. Someone that has a shift kit could put some brand names out, I'm don't have anything specific to recommend for you, but almost any one that you get is going to get you better times. You can also consider getting your PCM retuned to have the computer tell the transmission to shift faster and then you don't have to worry about an install. I recommend PCMforless.com for a good mail order tune.

depends on what you mean by better. the pcm style means u dont have to drop the tranny.

Yes. As to how big of a difference, depends on how heavy duty the kit is.

I think it would be quite similar to the B&M Electronic Shift Improver. I couldn't tell, but does the SLP have an on/off function?
