I know everyone probably gets asked this alot. But how bad will a stock LS1 camaro beat a stock LT1 camaro in a race. And im 99.9% sure but the engines in the 98-02 camari's are the same as the 98-02 trans am's right???

 

well the ls1 would probably win by over a second in the 1/4 mi, yes trans ams are the same as camaros

 

I wouldn't give it a whole second, but at least a half second, but a lot depends on the driver. Off the line the LT1 would be close, but the LS1 has a much better high end because it's heads flow a lot better.

 

Thanks guys. I thought the LS1 was a lot faster because everyone around here dogs on the LT1 like it's a piece or something. But I've never actually seen two of them run.

 

The LS1 has the advantage in stock form and even a slighty modded LT1 has trouble keeping up with a LS1 at high rpms. The LT1 is a good engine but not the easiest to work on.
