LS6 intake?

LS6 intake?
hey guys, brought my car to chevy to get inspected, they said there's a pretty big leak in the intake manifold which would run me $500. But I was thinking it would probably just be more cost efficient to replace the intake with the ls6 instead of getting this fixed then replacing it, right? What i didn't know though is apparently there are different brands.I've seen slp (which i would imagine is overpriced), gm and others. are they all the same, which one should i get?

RE: LS6 intake?
well the thing is, i have my car at the chevy place now and they were going to fix the intake for $500among other things, so i figured while i have it there, instead of paying twice, why not just upgrade the intake which would probably be around $500 as well. I didn't know that the ls6 was on the later model ls1's though, doesn't seem as fancy shmancy anymore. how much do FAST intakes run? i wasn't looking to spend that much on an intake as i plan on doing a CAI, LT's, high flow catted y, c6 wheels/nitto 555rs, and gears. So i was going to do everything relatively inexpensive (ie: pacesetters > kooks). is the ls6 worth it?

RE: LS6 intake?
The FAST manifold is only going to get you any good gains if you go for the 90mm TB and intake combo, and even then you're not going to see full gains from it until you have heads and cam on the car. Go for the LS6 intake unless you're planning on doing big things in the future.

RE: LS6 intake?
k thanks. I figure the difference of them fixing my stock intake and the ls6 is probably a couple hundred dollars so its worth it if i plan on doing full bolt ons and probably a cam at some point? or should i just let them fix the stock one?
