Default low coolant warning

So the low coolant warning lamp has been on for ages now. I finally brought a replacement sensor off ebay and installed it. Just wanted to check though, the light doesnt shine when I first start the car. Should it as a test?

Should light up for a few seconds with the key in run. It should then go out when the car is started. Unless you're actually low on coolant.

hmm, since replacing the sensor the light on the dash wont light up at all..Maybe the sensor is faulty. Coolant definitely isn't low. Is this worth worrying about?

According to the 4th gen owners manuals, the low coolant lamp should come on briefly when the ignition switch is turned on. Mine does, but it is much dimmer than the other lamps.

As long as you don't have any leaks and check your coolant every now and again, I'd say you're fine.
