Is this your own money earned by you or are you gettng a wee bit of help? If help, do the other party(s) have any input into the decision?

next, let's set aside the Z28 for amoment as that is pure EMOTION

what do you want for your $5k? Please don't say a Z28

do you want excellent tires with about 80% tread remaining?

Do you want excellent brakes that were recently replaced?

Do you expect nice aftermarket rims to be on the car?

you said you want a manny tranny; ok, how many miles should be on the clutch?

what are you willing to accept with respect to condition of the interior?

what are you willing to accept with respect to condition of the exterior

the same question holds true for the engine. Will you accept some leaks? Will you accept noise? Are you willing to buy a vehicle that needs immediate repair?

what kind of sound system must you have?

These questions need to be answered before you decide, regardless if you want a Hyundai or a Camaro.

Do you have a few $thousand kicking around for make-ready work on the car?

Do you have the ability and facilities to repair vehicles yourself? (don't ever count on the proverbial "I have a friend......")

I suggest that you look toward the people who provide food and shelter for you to help with this. They will not be emotionally attached to the decision but you must answer the generic questions I posed to you

good luck
