Lock problem

Lock problem
I just bought a 2000 z28. Real nice car. Only problem is for some reason the remote doesn't lock the drivers door. It'll unlock it but won't lock it. Anyone have any problem like this. Is it difficult to fix?

RE: Lock problem
1) The lock button on your remote might be bad. If you have 2 remotes, try the other one. If you're sure the remote is good, see below.
2)Take the door panel off and measure the voltage to the lock solenoid when locking and unlocking. If the voltage when locking is consistent with the voltage when unlocking, change the lock solenoid.

RE: Lock problem
I'm pretty sure that the remote is fine it locks the passenger side door. It also unlocks both doors just doesn't lock the drivers door. How expensive is the solenoid and how difficult is the door panel to get off. Don't know too much about cars just wanted to know how difficult this might be.

RE: Lock problem
If you don't know a whole lot about cars, you might want to let a professional handle this one. Even taking the door panel off and putting it back on can be difficult for those that aren't very mechanically inclined.
