key wont turn in drivers side door
i live in NC, not that cold usually. no visible damage in the lock, and everywhere else you can use that key (glove box, both t-tops, trunk, passenger side door) it works fine.
I don't even know if you can get it any more but graphite works wonders. I haven't bought any for years but you used to be able to get a little squeeze bottle of it at the parts store, squeeze a little into the key hole and the lock turns free and easy.
I just did a quick Yahoo search. I guess you can still get it. If it's on-line then hopefully the auto parts stores still carry it. I think I'll get myself a bottle to have. it's even good for house locks, boat locks etc etc

ill look into that, thanks. are you sure its not a broken part though?
Mine does the same thing with the passenger door and i live in nc lol. Also my cars security stays on and my unlock on my keyless wont work so if i open it with my key the alarm goes off every time. Therefor usually leaving my car unlocked : /
Your latching or locking mechanism could be rusty, stiff from old grease, or both. Get a can of PB Blaster, lower the window down, and reach the spray hose between the rear window opening of the door and aim at the latch, up high so it will run down. You can also spray the latch from the outside of the door. Then spray between the glass and the outer part of the door trying to get the lock and linkage lubed. Spray a little into the key lock and work the key in and out and try to turn it to loosen everything up.
sorry for the slightly late reply, but there are instructions in the owners manual on how to disable the alarm. i did mine like that. if i remember correctly, i think it involves putting the ignition in ACC, pulling some fuse and hitting the unlock button to change the setting.
has the lock been messed up from the before u got the car or did it start recently? if so was there work on the widow or window motor or the door in any way. linkage from lock to key mechanism could be jammed.
