Default It's my first time, do I need to be gentle?

Ok, so after rotting in the garage for over a year I'm finally ready to replace my blown clutch in my 2001 WS6. The only thing I'm really worried about, is that I've never done a clutch replacement. I plan to take my time and have several people offering to help me with it so I'm not too worried, but how much of a pain in the *** is this going to be? When I had my 78 Camaro I didn't worry at all about diving right in but with these newer vehicles and the way everything is crammed up in them I'm worried about it being a huge pain. This will be done in my garage, car held up by cinder blocks and jack stands. I was wondering how much of the problem the headers are going to cause, if I'll need to loosen them up to get to the transmission. I was also wondering if I should just go ahead and put new headers on it while I've got it up in the air and underneath it. It has stock manifolds right now. Anyway, just trying to get an idea of what I'm facing here, any advice, tips, whatever will be greatly appreciated.

Do this, but pull your O2s or be ready to replace them if you go coated. Painted ones will look crusty after 2 weeks.

Cluth swap is pretty straight forward. Resurface your flywheel while your at it and remember to replace pilot bearing.

im reading that you have stock exhaust on it now, if so the 01 may have the y pipe/crossover in the way so you may have to remove it. not that familiar with the 01s. with headers you would have to remove the y pipe. if the 6 speed is a one piece (trany and bellhousing are one) then it would be easier to install headers with it out of the way.
