Default intrument cluster removal

I would like to replace some bulbs in my intrument cluster as only 1 seems to be working, does anyone know how to remove the cluster or have a diagram ?

Haven't ever taken the instrument cluster out of the 98 but if it is like others, you will probably have to start by removing the knee kick panel below the dash to get to some of the screws that would be holding it together. Maybe someone who has actually done it will post something helpful up for you.

Well, like craby posted while I was typing! LoL.

crabys pic is good but has no words so ill give you a hand

first you need to remove the A pillar covers then the dash pad (no screws just velcro) then the knee panel and the radio cover (screws in the glove box and under the knee panel) then you can get the cluster shroud off theres a screw under the fuse cover on the driverside and i belive 2 screws on the bottom of the shroud and 3 at the top then push kinda hard on the top of the light cluster it clips in at the top and pivots at the bottom then tilt the wheel all the way down and pull the shroud off there are 4 screws that hold the cluster in place on the corners next unplug the electrical and pull out the cluster on the back of the cluster youll see a black cover and like 7 or 8ish gold screws remove those and replace your bulbs

all screws are 7mm except the 7 or 8 holding the black cover on there torx maybe a T25 i think

good luck and be careful when removing the dash pad the sun makes them real brittle and there easy to crack

edit darn this is for a 93 97

Yeah, BC, I don't think on the 98, he will need to do anything except remove the radio bezel which just snaps over the radio (if it is a factory install) to be able to get to any screws on the drivers side.
