Intake manifold gasget replacement

Default Intake manifold gasget replacement
I am replacing lower intake gadgets and when I took intake off there is like dry oil inside block or sludge what does that mean? What should I do?

Just for starters what are we working on here? Why are you replacing gaskets? How many miles on it and what engine?
