Default Installing rear caliper

Hello all having some issues replacing the rear caliper on my 95 z28. There Is this spring/coil that hooks from the bracket to the caliper. How do I get that back in place? It seems to be the coil/sprint that holds the e brake from going back to far. I can't find a write up on it and I may have to leave it off until tmrw. Will that affect the stopping of my car until then? Thanks

It won't affect stopping, just the parking brake won't work. Sometimes you can get reman'd calipers with them already installed. I know when I did mine one of them didn't come with it and I had to take it off the old one. I'll check, but I think the Haynes manual goes through on how to do it.

These are Remanufactured calipers it just was the caliper only no bracket assembly. I have the Haynes manual it skips a lot of info for installing. Just discuss pads and that's it. Putting this spring back on is a pain I've been on it for 4 hours almost sad to say. I'm going to have to leave it off until I get a mechanic to put it back on I guess

I like how the manuals all say "install actuator spring" like its simple. lol it probably is but im not getting it. Its almost impossible to create tension to get it to fit back into place. Im wonderin if there is some special way to install it back that i am missing, think I am S.O.L on this.

Get a pic of the spring. I pretty certain I know which one you're talking about and I had to use vice grips and a flat head to get it together.

oh man im pretty sure its the same one. seemed like it needs a lot of tension to get it back in. I cant take a pic now of my spring but I found one that looks similar on the net here is the link. https://www.dropbox.com/s/p2rhy1ywq3...pring.jpg?dl=0
