info on opti

hi my name is ryan and im new to this forum. anyways i have a 1997 30th anniversary, t-tops, lt4, auto, white with the famous orange stripes. my car has 55k miles on it and im getting ready to change the water pump and the opti. my question is do i just change the cap and rotor? or the whole distributor? thanks.....


p.s im not cheap but i dont like to waste my $. which is the best kit? I was going to go with the MSD unit.

Change the whole assembly so you won't have to revisit it in the near future.

ya thats kinda what i was thinking.$500 at jegs ouch, oh well. do u think MSD is the best way to go? thanks

yes, the MSD unit features better connecting points, they are copper as opposed to aluminum in other optisparks.Its a billet design.It also is better sealed than any other optispark out there, so you have better protection against moisture and dirt.Yeah its more pricey, but it is the top of the line.Ive had mine on for 2 yrs now with no issues at all.
