Default Ignition "plate"?

I was advised by a fellow 4th gen owner that my misfires at higher speeds could be caused by something he called the ignition plate - never head of it, but I assume he's talking about where the coils bolt to? Is this accurate? I have an 02 base. As I've mentioned before I've replaced the plugs, wires, and an ignition coil.

if you take the ingnition control/coil module out and clean without replacing the electrical grease between the icm and the mount it will cause the icm to overheat. look here at the 5 and 7th pictures and you'll see the spot. 4th Gen LT1 F-body Tech Articles
