If you live in a mostly dry state ABS INOP LITE BLINKIN IS NO WORRIES.

Midas only 2 years ago tried to say that an ABS INOP light blinking forever on my dashboard can spill over into the general workings of a 4th Gen.

I've been driving 2 years since then without a problem

the blinking orange Inoperable Anti lock break system light in dry states like Arizona, Nevada, Arizona, and Southern California for a 4th gen.

is NO CAUSE for concern

thanks Midas on Convoy Street San Diego zip 92111

thanks for trying to get me to fix a problem which you erroneously by intent or by mistake said is a cause for concern and quoted me an exorbitant price since you said it's a discontinued part

thanks also when I contacted your home office in Fla. to get the franchise owner to call me-- and the MIDAS home office instead of contacting the local franchise owner directly contacted its staff which thought I was going to get them in trouble by speaking with their boss the franchise owner (franchisee)
and as a result the franchisee owner, a lady, never returned my call

I over spent $400 even after their $100 midas coupon for a tune up 2 years ago--way way too much for a 4th gen tune up so I say this because I was a return paying customer after having spent a good chunk of change $400 so I deserved a return call from the local franchise owner.

trust the midas touch doesn't seem to be a reliable slogan anymore

hey midas franchise owners and midas the franchisor, read your almost sacred Midas Franchise agreement more carefully and the latter, do a friggin better job of following up with your franchisees!

so, there it is...the ABS INOP lite which is orange in color, if u live in those aforesaid dry states and there's no danger of rain sleet snow, ice, you can drive ur 4th gen. for years like I have without shelling out $800 since it's a discontinued part.

ah feel better for venting

it was actually a new abs module that was discontinued and 800 bucks, that would have stopped the blinking lite. it may even be a stupid lite since something like a wire is loose.

wire harness for front wheel speed sensors is a common fail to cause abs light

The tires can slide just as easily on sand, dust, or pebbles.

Just part of free market capitalism, the ugly side: trying to turn "wants" or "not really necessary fixes," into "needs" and "must repair's" (i.e., turning an ugly cabbage patch doll into a must have in the 80s) You don't really need a big gas guzzling pick up truck which uses and wastes lots of gas if your a soccor mom. Unless it's a work truck. Unless u want to haul a boat to the pacific ocean for leisure using a hitch on the back. we see lots of pickup trucks here in So. Cal. bigger is better that's the subliminal message these Advertiisng companies want to pass on. Here was the problem now that I searched & found the file: 1) ABS Module (Not Working)
2) ABS Pump (not working)

These 2 above auto parts have been discontinued since 1998 for Chevy Camaros; once it’s discontinued, (Midas), they can do a rebuilt that’s the only other option.

thanx for the advice Craby

Gary Doug it's true, but I have very good thread and thick racing slicks to avoid problems with that terrain which I almost never drive on
