Hello. My name is Scott and I am new to this site. I do not own a chevy camaro BUT I have a toyota tacoma that I painted the canary yellow color a few years ago and I need to repaint the thing. Last time I went to the chevy dealer and found one on the lot, got the vin number and got the code. But I went back to the same dealer today and they dont have any camaros on the lot that color. I went to the parts guy and he said that without a vin he cant look up any paint codes. SOoooo... I was hoping that someone here could help me out. If you have a canary yellow camaro and wouldnt mind sharing the last four numbers (i think) of your vin to get a paint code I would greatly appreciate it.

 

Most years only have about 8-10 colors. If you know what year you picked from you can search for color options for that year. Your luckily its not red I have seen years that had 3 difference reds available.

I only see 3 yellow options.
5th gen has, Rally Yellow - GCO - WA9414 (2014 last year)
6th gen has, Bright Yellow - G7D - WA131X (2018 last year)
2024 only Nitro Yellow Metallic - GCP

 

Thank you for the reply. I had the truck painted in 2016 so I am guessing (based on your years there) that it would have been a 2014. I will take these numbers to the dealer and see what I can find out. Hopefully they have some sort of paint chip they can show me. Or I will go to my local auto paint dealer and see what they turn up.

 

Holy Crap batman! I called my local auto paint shop and for the 2014 paint its over $600 for a gallon. I dont need a gallon (I I dont think) to paint the truck but still thats high. I will have to rethink.

 

Seems like everything cost twice as much as it did just 5 years ago. Add in all the EPA crap. Check with a couple of the aftermarket suppliers. If you are blending paint it might be worth it to get your paint scanned to get the exact matched. Sun will fade colors so even where on the truck you plan on blending can change.

 

Hello. Unfortunately I am looking at repainting the entire truck eventually. For right now it is just the front end. Hood, fenders and bumpers. There is hopefully some area on the under side of my bumper that hasnt faded. I will see if I can get that scanned.
