I need advice.. as usual.
What's up guys? So I've been talking about fixing up my little V6 for a while now and I've finally come across some money and I'm ready to do some legit mods (by legit I mean more than stock K&N filter and fuel injector cleaner). First I'm getting a new paint job for around a grand, midnight blue (at night it looks black and daytime it looks dark blue). Then of course I'm going to the K&N intake and a full new exhaust (headers back). I just wanted to know if you guys know of any good sites or places to get the best deals on intake and exhaust parts? I've already tried ebay, craigslist, and a number of misc. sites but haven't found any really eye catching deals. I also want to know what you guys think about the 2.5" exhaust to the 3.0" exhaust. I read that some people think with the 3" there is significant loss of back pressure that causes a loss of rwhp? Thanks for the help guys

if you have stock exhaust manifolds there is no need for a 3" exhaust. Im no expert on the v6, but i do believe they need some back pressure to run right, so i would stick with the smaller ypipe.

Correction: less back-pressure isn't going to decrease HP, it decreases the amount of low end torque, so it feels like you lose HP, but in actualily it just moves the torque curve into the higher RPM's. It will allow for a higher HP eventually, but with a bolt-on V6 you probably won't be breaching the flow of a 2.5" anyway, not even with headers.
As far as my recomendation for stores, I always check with the places that sponsor this sight first, I personally ordered my headers/Y pipe from www.speed-eng.com they had great service and run sales on things regularly, just e-mail them and you should be able to get sale info. Good luck!
