Default how tight for sway bar links?

old and new

the other day I noticed that the link on the passenger side was completely missing, so I replaced both up front. How tight is it supposed to be? I tightened it until about 1 inch of treads was pulled through the nut, is that enough?

Book says 17 ft-lbs (204 in-lbs). Some Loctite never hurt either.

If using poly replacements, do not smash the poly, only tighten enough so there is no play in the link, else the poly will deform.
