Asking and getting are two totally different things.

Some thoughts to consider:
1) It is definitely a buyer's market.
2) Gas prices are high, and only going higher.
3) Your car is not that rare, although some folks would like to have one.
4) Lots of folks are looking for high mpg in their cars right now, Camaro's just don't really fit that bill.

I would do a search for local dealers (within about 250 miles) and see if any have one similar to your's on the lot. See what they are asking for it. Also, check the NADA values for your area.

All the local dealers are selling them for 10K or over, most have about 100K miles on them. Maybe I should hold onto it since I haven't been able to get many bites on it locally.

Again, just because a dealer has a $10,000 sticker on the windshield doesn't mean that is what the car left the lot for.

Also, private party prices are generally lower than what you would pay at a dealer. But they are higher than what any dealer will give you in trade.

The bottom line is that if you like the car, and wouldn't feel good about what you can get by selling it, then hold on to it. If the car needs a lot of work, or you desperately need something that gets 40 mpg and cheap insurance, then you should look at selling.

But, your car is only worth what a buyer is willing and able to spend. Nothing more, and nothing less.

Depending on how the inside looks, I'd say try to sell it at around $9,000. I have a 2001 Z28, bought from a dealership for $11,400. They were asking $14,700 for it and my dad talked them down. But this was also in 2005...

Had it about 3 weeks now, runs well, paint looking good and most of the issues sorted out. id say about a 6K car now.
