How many speakers does my Bose system have? and how to change fronts?

Default How many speakers does my Bose system have? and how to change fronts?

i also have a subwoofer in the hatch area that says Bose on it, now does this mean that my front and back speakers are also Bose? i need to replace my front speakers but im not sure what brand i should get to work best with my factory set up...and how many speakers do i have total excluding my subwoofer? and is it hard to change the front speakers??? do i need to remove the door panel? Thanks...

yes you have to remove the door panel to get at the front speakers. if you have one sub in the back then you have 5 speakers. personally if all your speakers are working dont change them. the bose system they put in these cars in imo pretty dam good. plus im not sure if you can just hook other speakers into the amps that the car has becuase of the ohms and all different so i think ud have to rewire not sure about that but i wouldnt change them if they are not broke

Oh i love the factory set up, i would never change it...but i think one of my front speakers is blown thats why, i just need to change the one, i guess id have to change both fronts if i do, but not really sure what kind of speakers i should get to match the factory ....

I think you can go to GM to get a replacement. Then you only have to buy one. If not, contact Bose and they can send one to you.

You could also just ask for the model number. Chances are it was used in other cars as well and can be found online for cheap.

You could also check out salvage yards. They usually pull stuff like that from cars when they get totaled. You might be able to get one cheap from them... If not, here's a SET with a current bid of $45 + $15 shipping. Good luck

thanks guys for the info, so my front speakers are " Bose" and not Delco for sure? i thought i could just buy a pair of alpines or pioneer and put them in !!! i guess i should check the auto wreckers if thats the case, i thought only the hatch speaker ( sub) is made by Bose.

Nope you have a FULL Bose system in your car. All four speakers and the rear-mounted sub are all Bose. Might check ebay out. Or call GM to get a part number and check out salvage yards. Also you can usually find stuff like that on craigslist.

ok great, thanks for the info... hopefully i can just buy one speaker if i find one...thanks alot.
