I have never seen 17's that cheap but if you got them at that price, that's great

why the hostility?

You know what you paid and what you purchased. If you read thorugh your posts it's nebulous at best

It's simply a matter of style yet you ask about "trolling"

We here only have the data that is in the psots

example,

hey everyone, get jealous, I purchased qty 4 Hankooks 275 40 17 out the door price, complete, mounted/balanced/tax/disposal for under $73 per tire

We all would then know the qty and the complete price and I for one would be asking where did u get such a deal because I'll by some and store them

then, for clarification, I would also write: I also picked up a set of qty 4 used 17 x 9.5 wheels in great condition for $x

I got excited when I found Sumitomos HTR-AS for $90 per tire delivered but not mounted (275 40 17)
this guy is a nut; he's a "newbie" with concerns that he overpaid for a 4th gen. that doesn't work, I'd ignore him. his whole tone is one of hostility. it is HE who is trolling not you. he overspent on what looks like a rustbucket lemon and i wouldn't take it personally torque is good. again: we're done here headdumblockguy don't contact me or reply to my threads again im the Original poster

I bought brand new Hankook Ventus v2 Concept 2 tires and OEM wheels from a '95 for $591, sorry I didn't make that clear. The tires were $291 and the wheels $300. A little persuasion goes a long way with getting deals on tires and wheels...
HEY...if I was busy had since I had and still have more disposable income, AND The brains not to spend it on a rustbucket like you did....and i wanted piece of mind I would go to a repair shop
NEWSFLASH: 630 BUCKS CAUSED IT DONE RIGHT THE 1ST TIME WHEREAS YOU MIGHT HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD AND DO IT AGAIN OR LOSE YOUR SCREWDRIVER SOMEWHERE IN THE CHASSIS... IT WASN'T WASTED...WASTED IS THE TIME ENERGY AND STRESS YOU WILL SPEND WHICH YOU CAN'T PUT A DOLLAR SIGN TRYING TO FIX YOUR NON-RUNNING CAR

On tirerack, the (biggest 16" available) 245 50R16's Ventus V2 Concept2 are $328.40 for a set of 4.
But wait, there's less, they're only $288.40 after mail-in rebate. Better start stock-piling!
I no doubt missed that and you know how I feel about those salad shooters. I wasn't even thinking 16 inch tires

Now I don't feel so bad about the deals I find when discounttiredirect has Ebay specials

nah, it's just posting style

I try to be as literal as possible such as qty4 Sumitomo HTR AS 275 40 17 tires @ $84 each incl shipping and no sales tax

there is no question with respect to what I purchased and $$

Let's consider a perfectly innocent conversation between 2 guys (sorry ladies)

Man A does his own repairs and has for years. He gets a sizable discount at the local parts store because he knows them

Man B brings his car to mechanics

conversation

Man B: well, I just had 4 new rotors and pads installed and it cost $654 at Joe's auto

editorial- now to Man B this is a typical price as he's had it done before and knows what others have paid

Man A then says in astonishment.......You paid how much??

editorial- Man A had no idea that shops charged that much because Man A gets those parts for $130 after his discount and he does the job in less than an hour including jacking up and cleaning up. He is dumbfounded but, a funny thing has happened

Man B is now defensive because he thinks Man A views him as a dummy or patsy but that is not the case at all

We see that an awful lot here on this forum
