how fast will a factory automatic LS1 run in the 8th and quater mile roughly? what gears would be the best to put in it with out totally ruining my highway gas milage? thanks

 

12.9 is the lowest LS1 factory 1/4 time that I have seen. Normally they are a low 13s car.

12.6 on drag radials completly stock.

 

The record for bone stock on stock tires was a 12.8X, I believe, with an automatic Z28, or atleast I heard it was an auto. Most 6speeds will run low 13's though and an auto would be closer to mid 13's.

 

yea i do believe it was 12.87 but not certain. generally LS1's are a low 13's

 

i wonder how to figure out what one would run in the 8th. but if you all dont know its no big deal because ill find out soon enough. The only tracks around here are 8th mile tracks unless i want to make a pretty long drive.
