Default Hood Vent Modification

Hey guys, recently I cut out the vents on my hood, kind of on a whim, and was wondering if anyone else has done this yet? I still have to do the final sanding and paint, but it's pretty cool sitting at a red light and seeing the heat rise out of the hood. It keeps the temps down pretty low. I've yet to have a problem with water coming through the vents, and we've had some pretty heavy rain.

Here's a couple sucky pictures:

Yeah, I'll be getting another hood before she gets paint. I was just tired at looking at those stupid sun faded fake vent cover things. Where did you get your hood?

so taking the plastic vents out doesnt mess the engine at all? Like nothing gets in there? Cause I hate the crappy plastic sticking out.

This is exactly what I've been looking for. Please tell me how those ugly fake vents come out. I can't seem to get mine out. Also, I'm thinking of getting knight rider style LED beams to put in my vents rather than making them functional lol
