Default Hood Adjustment?

How do you adjust the hood on these cars?

The car is tweaked to begin with, and with what limited adjustment I was able to do, I got it to close, but it is crooked. It's super close on opposite corners to the fenders, and huge gaps on the others (like you can see the bolt heads).

If there is not some brilliant way that I am missing, I am going to take the hinges/brackets off, and widen the holes, to allow for additional adjustment. Any reason not to do this?

One weird thing though. I though it lined up before I took the beat up bumper cover, and fender off. This only seemed to surface after I fixed the front corner that was smashed. They don't install shims behind the fender do they (that could have fallen off)?

Thanks,
Claude

PS, I will try and get some pics tomorrow!

is it an aftermarket fiber glass hood or OEM hood? i bought a fiber glass ram air hood and it didnt line up so i drilled the holes wider to make more adjustments on the hinges. im not sure if thats the best way to do it but it worked for me and ive had no problems since.

It's the OEM steel one. But I know where you are coming from, the bumper cover I ordered, some of the holes did not line up, so I had to drill them out. But thanks man, I think I am going to do it tomorrow, if no one else chimes in.

This car is so much more of a project than I thought when I first bought it, lol.
