HELP!!! Fuse 7 blowing with keyless only door lock/unlock & engine off 2002 SS Camaro
I have a 2002 SS Camaro.
My fuse #7 is blowing when I unlock or lock the doors using the key fob and the engine is off.
I can lock and unlock the doors with no problem from the switches inside the car.
I can lock and unlock the doors with no problem with the engine ON.
But with the engine off, using the key fob to either lock or unlock the doors fuse #7 blows. (PWR ACCY)
I noticed that when I either when I either unlock or lock (not sure which) the doors with the engine off using the key fob that the gauges associated with fuse 7 peg out maxed.
That would be the speedometer, tachometer, gas gauge, and temperature gauge.
The oil pressure and voltmeter gauges work fine.
(I do not think they are on fuse 7)
Also I have just noticed that my fuse #5 is blown as well. (TAIL LPS)
This appears to run the fog lights and instrument cluster lighting.
I replaced fuse #5 and it blows as soon as I turn on lights.
I am thinking of replacing the instrument cluster but am open to suggestions!!!

I found the following:
fuse 7 powers quite allot of components. this circuit is a orange wire. this wire feeds battery voltage to theft deterrent relay, rear compartment lid release, outside rear view mirror switch, radio, shock sensor, and the ipc cluster. finding this short can be very difficult and time consuming. if the fuse only blows when using the lock function on the key fob. try unplugging the theft deterrent relay and see what happens. this relay is behind the dash.
Can someone tell me EXACTLY where this relay is???
