Default Help with car stalling out

Yesterday my car cut off on me twice within minutes of each other. It was hard getting it started but the second time I got it running it ran fine the rest of the day.

Then this morning it did it again. The first time I was less than 2 miles from the house, the second time was after I dropped my daughter off at school, which is about 7 miles from the house.

The first time it cut off this am it started right back up. But the second time it took me a few minutes to get it going again. Once I did it ran fine.

The check engine light is not coming on. It just dies. Doesn't stutter or act funny in any way. I don't have a diagnostic computer for it yet. Will Autozone be able to pick up any codes that it is throwing?

What could be the possible problem(s)?

Check your plugs and wires (if fairly old), fuel pump connections, fuel pressure; basically anything keeps your car running. Sounds like it could throw a code or 2 so I would just run a scan to be on the safe side

Plugs and wires are good.

My husband is thinking either the fuel pump or the map sensor.

we took the car to friend who is a mechanic for Ford. He put the scanner on it and it showed that the crankshaft position sensor is bad.

It's getting done today. With my husband working nights he just doesn't' have time to do it himself.
