Default Headlights Dim?

Okay so I was driving my girlfriend home tonight, I was about 5 minutes into driving and my headlights dimmed very slightly. I'm wondering if this is something I need to get checked out because it dims my interior dash lights as well. It doesn't dim enough to inhibit sight, but I'm still worried that it could be a sign of something more serious. Oh and this has been doing this every since I bought the car ( about a year or so ago? ). Would it really be necessary to have this checked out or just continue on not worrying about it?

Not that I can think of, but how would I know if the radiator fan came on while I was driving? Oh and I forgot to mention it only dims for 1 - 2 seconds.

im thinking the fans are coming on and it takes a second for the charging system to compensate. i dont think its anything to worry about. maybe keep an eye on the volt meter for a while just in case.

That's what I'm thinking too. Another thing is if you had your interior heat on the defrost mode, that cycles your A/C unit on and off to dehumidify the air. The A/C going on causes a little dip in the engine rpm's, which can momentarily affect the charging output. Or, if you have your rear window defroster on, that really causes a power draw.
