Default Which headers?

well i got my bonus, and my wife wont let me get a bike for now so im working on beefing up my camaro, just trying to figure out which headers/exhaust would give the best performance, and be relativly easy to install on a 99 z28, i had heard for putting in headers i will probably have to push the motor out of the way, just wondering which headers i could use without having to move too much **** out of the way

looking for ease/price/performance =\ prolly be hard to get all three but mehh

thanks in advance

Go pace setters their way cheaper than hooker and work just as well...

"easy to install" is all relative. if you have a service lift then it will be easier than a guy with jack stands. Be sure and get some decent gaskets like Percys. Buy some heat sleeve as well to protect some of your cables and install the sleeves when the manifolds are out but headers are not in.

I think calling any header install "easy" would be a little understated. I personally have Jet-Hot's on mine, which are essentially the same as the Hookers. They fit great and the price is fair (they do come with Jet-Hot coating as well). I didn't really have any of the major issues some others have had with header installs. If you take your time and get the car high enough (I recomend as high as safely possible) you should be fine, and you should not have to move the motor at all. For what its worth I've heard that the Pacesetters are not too bad to install either. I've also heard good things about the top of the line Kooks and QTP headers.

Kooks is going to be a little harder to install since it's a tuned long tube, but more headaches from the install will result in more low end torque. Life has a way of evening out...

Anyway, I've heard things about Pacesetter being pretty easy to install, although I heard that you have to raise the motor to get the passenger side in. I agree with Torque, get the car as high as you safely can and the install shouldn't take you too horribly long. Make sure you have a buddy to help you position things, it will make it easier to get the gaskets etc. all lined up. If you have the money I would recommend Kooks headers, the quality is higher than that of Hooker or Pacesetter, but they come at a price premium. I guess it all depends on how big your wallet is...
