Got my car back from Chevy
I would definitely take it to another shop for a second opinion. Talk to some people and see where they've taken their cars in a pinch. When I wrecked my Yukon, I was still able to drive it (after some extensive pulling and yanking on the front bumper than involved a huge towstrap, a comealong, and my dad's '07 Z71), but it had a pretty heavily damaged driver-side frame rail, huge gashes in the tread of the tire from my front bumper, nonexistant alignment, no left blinker or head light, and hood that was wired shut with bailing wire, and I still drove it to two different shops to get different opinions, and it payed off too, the 2nd shops estimate was almost a grand lower than the first, and it turned out my dad grew up with the guy who ran the bodyshop, so that helped us out even more.
All I'm trying to say is the dealer is probably screwing you over, there's no way an engine and a radiator costs 10k, even with labor factored in, and I doubt you even need a whole new engine. I would think it'd cost 4-5 thousand.

Yeah.. whentheservice drive ladyasked me how much i thought it would cost for the engine i said "Well, the Good Wrench LT1s online go for around 4,000" and she said nope, with labor it will be 10 grand... i just looked at her and said.. f that... paid and left. Im gonna find another shop but first im going to change my o2 sensors and see what kind of results that yields.

private transactions are "buyer beware"
private transactions are "buyer beware"
but here in NY, if a car stops running or has a serious problem within 30days of buying it, and if the car cost more than 2500, you are entitles to your money back by going through court.(private party transactions)
spartan if i rember right we joined about the same time and thou i dont commeint even close to what u do, i sure do seem to read alot of urs, this whole thing u r dealing with now is alot because of ur age, u dont have the exp u wish u had or want, u screwed up and thought u found a good deal on something pretty u wanted cause hey it got u a gf/ and u got to do donuts in it and i bet u have raced more then one person in it, what u need to in my opoin is sell the car get what u can out of it, it is going to b a loss, i think its safe to say we have all been there at one point of time. lose the car then use that money to buy some cheap day to day car thats good on gas and ins, then u start saving ur money and find another camaro out there that u want, it will problly take some time but know what u want if u want an 2002 ss 6speed with t-tops under 100k then fine wait to find what u want, u have been in this form long enough to know alot of the problems u could run into, then after u find what u want and u have the money find a good mech and pay them to check the car over it may cost a few hundered to have them do this but better before u buy it then after and if the guy u r buying it from is not lying then they should have no problem letting u take it and have it checked out. lets face it u got suckerd u thought it was a good deal and the guy u bought it from knew it was not... it sucks no one here can make ur mind up for u we all love camaros and we all hate the ideal of cing a camaro go but u need to mark this up as a mistake and let it go. or if not then keep it and bite the bullet on the money. it is not the last camaro on the market there will b alot of newer ones cheap when the new camaro comes out, so think of it as a lesson and a blessing all in the same i would just say if u buy another on unless u know what to check out on it to reasure it is a good deal pay someone to have it check out for u.
yeah bro i hear you... believe me its been on craigslist all week and ive only got trade offers for crap pos cars that arent even worth 2 grand... Im trying to sell it but at the same time i figure if i can change the o2 sensor and have a mechanic look at it and it yields new results that are better than before then i wont need to sell it.
