make it look nice and enjoy. the 3.4 is a good motor but not real good to build, first off its 24 years old, second they dont make them and haven't for a long time so the aftermarket has left them to the wayside. like I said make it look nice and when your ready sell it and buy v8 4th gen.

Also to add to what Craby said. The rear wheel drive version of the 3.4 is based off the cast iron 2.8 block designed in the early 80’s the Cylinder heads are a huge bottle neck. Even something like No2 or a Turbo can charge the cylinder but they do not help much with emptying the cylinder. Very long story short You can buy a nice 3800 car for less than it would take to make a 3.4 almost as fast as a 3800. These limits are not in the modern front wheel drive 3400 but the engines are not interchangeable. Even the 1994 FWD 3400 breaths better then RWD 3.4 of the same year.

Sounds like a lot of work, make sure to do the sums first. I would suspect you'd be better off just selling as is and buying an aged ls1 4th gen.

The cheapest way to get a "fast" 4th gen is to buy a Ls1 shell someone already pulled the motor and trans on and install a 5.3 or 6.0 truck engine in there. I have seen even true SS bodies complete less engine and trans for $1200. You can buy a 300 Hp 5.3 for $5-600 or a 350Hp 6.0 $8-1200. You can add 150 HP to either of those motors without major work. Add in a tune once its done and you have a little over 2K in the car, Now subtract what you can sell your running V6 for and that is not a lot of money.
