Default getting monsoon amp to work with aftermarket radio

I have a 99 camaro 3.8 auto with monsoon I have a aftermarket radio installed and my front and rear speakers work but the subwoofers in the sail panels I believe to be powered by the amp do not all radio connections have been made to the new radio except the wire that controls speed control volume thing can anyone shed some light is there some wiring I must do or should they be working leaving the amp or subs to be the fault thanks in advance

There should be a sub out on the back of the head unit. Run the wires from there to the input of the subwoofer amp, and then run wires from the output on the amp to the subs. Then there should be a thick red wire to power your amp that runs to the battery through the firewall, check the connection; this is what runs the "juice" to your amp. Then there should be a shorter thick black wire, that is the ground cable, coming from your amp. This should be bolted somewhere to the body/chassis of the car. Make sure this also has a good connection, if it doesn't the amp will not work. If you make sure all of this is ok and it still will not work check the output on your alternator and make sure it is operating correctly and then maybe take the amp to a sound place and have them test it.

Im not sure if the wiring harness is the same it should work just like it normally would but if the harness isnt the same idk how to make it work. My friend had an old alpine head unit and a ford excursion harness and we were able to splice the wiring into the factory harness of his 84 monte carlo and make the thing work but Idk if you could do that with any setup. Maybe post some picture of both harnesses.
